Matthias Teddy - 2010 Worldwide limited Edition

Matthias is a different style of Teddy bear, but one that is equally, if not more, appealing than his predecessor. Matthias is a "cone-nosed bear" with a very pronounced tapering snout. While the origin of this particular style is not definitely known, some experts have speculated that during the Teddy bear boom of the early 1900s, Steiff artisans, facing tight production deadlines, deviated from their assigned patterns and sewed these unique creations. Now quite rare, cone-nosed bears are extremely desirable to collectors. Matthias is made with golden blond mohair with lightly bleached tips for a frosted effect. He is 15.5 inches tall and his head is loosely jointed and wobbly. Matthias is limited to 1,500 pieces.
